Cleaning up, growing up, waking up and showing up are Richard Rohr ‘s 4 stages for leading a Christian life.  Richard Rohr explores these stages in one of his homilies and points out that most Christians are still in the “cleaning up stage.”  What is the journey we each have to be on to arrive at the “showing up stage?” We have to learn to live in unity with each other.  If we cannot love our neighbor we cannot love God. Learning to love our neighbor is the path to loving God. Every human being is our neighbor, not just the people who look like us.  In America, we are led by people who show little empathy or love for their neighbors.  They are poor role models for the journey we should all be on.
